How these figures were obtained

The figures come from a full-text search over the entire corpus of verbatim reports of the Italian Chamber of Deputies from 1948 to 2022, queried with ambiente OR inquinamento OR "cambiamento climatico" OR "cambiamenti climatici" OR "tutela ambientale". Each intervention is counted once even if the theme occurs several times within it. The source of the texts is the ItaParlCorpus dataset by Joshua Cova (Harvard Dataverse), which collects 2,454,718 interventions and more than 470 million words. Texts from the earliest legislatures come from OCR scans and may contain recognition errors.
