2.4 million interventions in the Italian Chamber of Deputies · 1948–2022 · 18 legislatures
This archive collects 2,454,718 interventions delivered in the Italian Chamber of Deputies between 1948 and 2022: more than 470 million words, 5,870 members of parliament and 76 parliamentary groups, spanning the entire history of the Italian Republic. You can search any word in the text of the speeches, filter by speaker, political group, legislature or period, read each intervention in full and download the results of a search as an archive ready for analysis.
The corpus statistics show who spoke most, which themes dominated each year, how the presence of women in the Chamber grew, and which were the most intense years of Italian politics. The thematic pages tell how often Parliament debated femicide, immigration, organised crime, pensions, the environment and other major public issues.
The project is curated by Maria Marino, doctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Genoa, and is based on the ItaParlCorpus dataset by Joshua Cova.
